Ever wanted to turn yourself into a cartoon? 🙀
In 2025, it’s so easy now! With Runway ML’s new Act-One, you can animate a 30-second clip of yourself in literally ONE click. Watch my tutorial below to see how you can do it too!
🎬 After trying ActOne out, here are my thoughts:
What’s great about Runway ML’s Act-One? 👍
- Instant animation: Upload your clip, press one button, and voilà — you’re animated. It’s VERY user friendly.
- Micro-expressions are spot-on: Every pause, thought, and subtle movement feels surprisingly human. To me, this is the most impressive part.
- No animation expertise needed: You can skip the months of learning Blender — and now get professional level results in a few seconds!
What could be better? 👎
- Limited character options: More variety would be nice, but to remedy this you can upload your own character and have RunwayML animate that, and I think that works well!
- Background control: The ability to remove or customize backgrounds would be great, for now you have to manually do that.
- Matching voices: You’ll need to edit or find voices separately to align with your character! I use Artlist.io to create character voiceovers easily.
